Restaurants in new developments
Granary Square Kitchen, London
Bruno Loubet will open his second site early next year within the 6,300 sq ft space of the Western Transit Shed, part of the new Archant development of King's Cross. The 80-cover restaurant will have an additional 100 alfresco covers on Granary Square itself (should the sun ever shine again) and will see the French chef place more emphasis on the role of vegetables in his cooking.
Duck & Waffle, London
Located on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower, Duck & Waffle will join only a handful of restaurants that can truly claim to be a 24/7 operation when it opens later this year. Head chef Daniel Doherty will serve up crowd-pleasing dishes that suit all eating occasions, including a foie gras all-day breakfast for early risers and welcome Old Spot pork pies for night owls.
It's going to be a busy few months for the UK's restaurateurs, which can only be good news for adventurous diners looking for something that bit different. The only difficulty will be fitting them all in we suspect.
