Turn up the heat with our round-up of great curry houses.
Curry restaurants pop up in the strangest of places - pubs, churches, railway stations - testament to our continuing national love affair with all things subcontinental. From the old-fashioned flock wallpaper joints, with their revolving relish stands and comfortingly familiar menus, to chefs at the cutting edge of Indian cusine, the UK can't get enough. So we hardly need an excuse to head down to our local curry house for a great curry.

A bit skewed don't you think?
Yet again Leicester has been totally ignored as a venue for good food, and this despite the fact that Leicester has some absolutely excellent curry houses which regularly get ranked highly in nationwide competitions.
But then, most people don't seem to realise that Leicester even exists? The lifestyle in Leicester/Leicestershire is great - we have great, affordable restaurants, comedy festivals, carnivals, historical venues, visitor attractions, e.g., National Space Centre, great shopping centres, theatres, lots of different ways of keeping fit, etc., etc.,.
However, maybe it's a good thing people don't know too much about Leicester. Do we really want tourists galore?
