Apparently, photos of me in colossal pain from that World’s Hottest Chilli Menu went down very well with you lot. Yeah. Thanks MSN readers. Thanks a whole bunch. What have I ever done to you eh? Except for apparently overlooking Scotland in every round up I’ve ever done…  So, with the above in mind, there was really only one name in the frame when the idea of a “tasting and rating” of chilli sauces came up. There's a whole host of chilli sauces available to buy in the UK. But which give the best bang for your buck? We found out.

I remember when my Dad brought a hot chilli sauce which came in a green toothpaste sort of tube.

He told me it was Lime toothpaste...

I was not happy at all!

Out of curiosity, did anyone check out Dr. Burnorium's Hot Sauce Emporium when researching this? It's a little shop in Bristol that sells hot sauces with 'pain levels'. It's quite a sight!

Courageous, but not as courageous as the Aussie guy who eats whole chillis on the internet, including the Trinidad Scorpion.  Real men and women like a dram of good malt and a chilli hit on the side, it's a brave combination but, by God, they really do compliment each other - worth a try.

Should have tried Firefoods Infinity Chilli Sauce, that really does pack a punch! I'm a huge fan of most of the products from them. The Ring Sting Relish is devine if used to make your own nachos! Definitely recommend any chilli lover to try some of there products!

Smokey Upton Dragon by the Upton Cheyney Chilli Company. Best sauce there is, seriously. Their Megalodon isn't half bad either. Hot Headz's 'Who Dares Burns 2nd Assault' is also pretty good, and fairly tangy.

I have to say, being a known chill product reviewer myself i hope these were all done on sperate days? If not then the results are skewed and not to be trusted, if you're going to do this, do it properly.

Try a teaspoon of 15 minute burn.  Even mixed into a dish, Daves Insanity Sauce - which I agree is very hot - doesn't come close.  It has the potential to make you very ill, but Wow, it is amazing.  Most of the sauces you featured on here are for girls.

Sambal is pretty damn hot compared to many off the shelf chilli sauces that are allegedly hot.
