The coolest food and drink brands in Britain
The 2013 CoolBrands list has just been released and it’s jam-packed with some of Britain's best food and drink success stories.
In case you don’t know, CoolBrands is an annual list of the UK’s coolest brands, based on the opinions of 3,000 consumers and a panel of “Expert Influencers”. This year that panel included TV chef Gizzi Erskine, musicians Laura Mvula and Charli XCX, Bestival founder Rob da Bank and model Daisy Lowe. It covers fashion, art, beauty, technology and homeware among others, but this year food and drink entries dominate the list.
So click on for our pick of the food and drink contenders. Who are they, what do they sell and are they really the coolest foodie brands in Britain today? We reveal all.
I've been drinking Duvel for years, but now I'm being told that it is "uber" cool, I'm tempted to stop. Anything "uber" automatically gets my back up. Why are people starting to speak German mixed with English? Why don't they just learn to speak English properly - now that's a novel idea, but probably not uber cool.
As for Duvel? It's too good a beer to give up just because someone has woken up to the fact that it's there and decided to describe it in a daft way.
