Biography: Helenka Bednar
Helenka is a freelance journalist specialising in food and lifestyle. She has written for the BBC, Time Out, Virgin Media, easyJet, Ryanair and AOL. She's always had difficulty resisting the contents of specialist food shops, her pantry and her fridge - well, anyone's fridge. She's interested in all things foodie whether it's how tipping works in restaurants, why eel is so underrated or how to stop a soufflé sinking.
After a decade working as a web editor, she founded iLoveMyGrub.com, a website aimed at foodies with a focus on ethical eating. As Editor of the site her duties have included sampling Christmas dinner on the Orient Express, talking sherry with Heston Blumenthal and trying the culinary delight that is whale's vomit.
